The Stunning Reflections of Lake Solano

The Stunning Reflections of Lake Solano

Immediately downstream from Lake Berryessa is Putah Creek and Lake Solano. This is a place I've been meaning to visit for some time. Or I should say revisit, since I had been there before in the dark. Viewing the road on Google Maps Street View, I could see strong reflections in the surface of the lake. Before entering the park proper, I had stopped on the road and took the following shot.

The hills of Napa Valley reflecting in the surface of the lake.

There are two halves to Lake Solano Park. On the west is campgrounds and east is day use. No pets are allowed since the lake is populated by peacocks. It was not mating season during my visit and I did not get a great photo of the birds, but I will try again in the spring. Parking in the day use area is $5.00 at the entrance. The park is maintained by the County of Solano

Why did the peacock cross the road?
